Frank Lago
Frank Lago was born and raised in Miami-Dade County. He graduated from Christopher Columbus High School and earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s degree in public administration from Florida International University.
Frank began his career at the FIU Metropolitan Center, gaining invaluable experience as an urban planner and supporting numerous South Florida municipalities with their economic development initiatives. His work throughout Miami-Dade County helped lay the foundation for the future growth of cities such as West Miami, Sweetwater, and others.
He played a key role in creating the University City District in Sweetwater, adjacent to FIU’s Modesto A. Maidique Campus. Frank helped design and implement the long-term vision that expanded the city’s tax base and development potential.
Today, Frank works in real estate, advising and consulting across several asset classes, including land and development for workforce and affordable housing, as well as office and industrial real estate. He has represented a variety of clients throughout South Florida, including The Easter Seals of South Florida, Borinquen Medical Centers, and other nonprofit organizations.
Frank also serves as the Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Planning Advisory Board, where he contributes his expertise to guide the county’s planning and development strategies, promoting responsible growth and economic progress throughout the region.
